After seeing a pair of fake wooden sunglasses about six months ago we said "Why not make sunglasses out of real wood!" and Woodwear was created. 

We quickly discovered that Ray-Ban made a pair of really cool wood Wayfarers back in the day. We love the traditional, timeless Wayfarer styles, so we started to mock up similar designs. We did not want to make wood sunglasses that did not look and feel like real sunglasses, so it took some time to perfect our manufacturing processes. We also wanted to do what we could to make the smallest footprint on the environment, so instead of using hardwoods, we thought it would be great to take a more Eco-friendly approach and use Bamboo, as Bamboo is a sustainable material that grows rapidly.
